This calendar has all the details of upcoming Mobius events (like the Spring 2024 edition of our favorite high speed performance art event 1-Minute Solos, curated by Jimena Bermejo) as well as events that members of our group are involved in outside of Mobius.
The calendar also serves as a history of our group’s live and online activities since the Covid pandemic began, including our Spiderweb series of artist talks by emerging and mid-career artists from the New England area.

Mobius Live! Series: SLAY
SLAY celebrates the Ides of March–a time of omens, superstition, curses, hexes, prophecy, plotting and crowd-sourced assassination. Taking inspiration from a date famous for being the beginning of the end of the Roman Empire, Mobius calls in queer community to join six performance artists in pulling out all of the psychomagical stops to cast anti-authoritarian spells with us. Bring your queer power to conspire towards the fall of all of the Roman Empires of the present. Show us how you slay!
Mobius Event: Undoing the Archive
Join Tufts University Art Galleries and Mobius Artists Group for performances, sound works, and installations responding to the Tufts University Archival Research Center (TARC)’s Mobius Inc. Records and the larger conception of the “archive.” Resisting the urge to adhere to the de facto logics, organization, and authority of the archive, contributions from Marilyn Arsem, Margaret Bellafiore, Jimena Bermejo, Serena Gabriels, Sara June, Heather Kapplow, Marcel Marcel, Forbes Graham, Jeff Huckleberry, Sandy Huckleberry, EL Putnam, Kledia Spiro, and Joanna Tam embody adjacencies, challenges, resistances to, and thinking with archives—institutional, governmental, collective, familial, and personal.

Mobius Presents: 1 Minute Solos
Presented by Mobius, 1 Minute Solos is coming on March 24th, 2024 at the Lilypad in Cambridge. Starting at 4pm multiple artists will be sharing their one minute, finished solo performance piece. Curated by Jimena Bermejo. $10 suggested donation.
Evaporate Live Art Festival
Boston’s Mobius Artist Group presents Evaporate, a weekend’s worth of live art programming over the first weekend of November.
Evaporate takes advantage of the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum’s unique setting and the special sensitivity of artists who work in ephemeral ways, and whose practices are deeply informed by watery surroundings, featuring artists from Performance Art Bergen in Norway and from Boston’s own Mobius Artist Group.
Mobius Presents: Yumiko Yoshioka’s Body Resonance Workshop
The main focus of this workshop is conscious research in the unification of our body/mind/soul, so that we can deeply enjoy the intrinsic process of metamorphosis through the spirit of dance. Through a continuous exploration of our past collective memories, we can strike a vein of abundant creative resources, enriching the essence of our life.

Mobius Live! Series: Performance
Performance, on March 16 is curated by Marilyn Arsem and features performances by Jimena Bermejo making tortillas; Marissa Dungan as Alukah the Kosher Vampire; Jeff Huckleberry with multiple electric sanders; and ruminations by Joanne Rice and Scott Fessler with didgeridoo prerecorded by Tom Plsek.

Open Call for 1 Minute Solos! This beloved Mobius performance series, on hiatus during the pandemic, is coming back! Submit your proposals by April 17, 2022 through the form below. Pieces must be strictly one minute in duration and should be a finished work.
