Mobius Artists Group Culture
Mobius Artists Group is committed to actively cultivating and warmly welcoming artists and audiences from a diversity of backgrounds, ideas, perspectives and artistic practices. We collaborate on artistic projects with other group members as well as with the broader community of artists. We engage in supporting each other in our art-making practices via feedback sessions and through exploring and learning about one another’s work. We demonstrate our respect for one another through active listening and respectful speech. We understand that our members will have differences of opinion and seek to utilize these differences to help us grow.
Communication is critical to Mobius Artists Group’s functioning, and, because our group is composed of people from a range of backgrounds and belief systems, we treat all beliefs, perspectives and experiences (political, religious, cultural, etc.) as worthy of respect and tolerance, even if others might not agree with them. Mobius Artists Group members will refrain from the use of derogatory language to describe another’s beliefs or way of life, and from any behavior that belittles another member. We also expect members to be active participants in the group’s meetings and other organizational communication processes, supporting the flow of the meetings to the best of each of their abilities based on personal constraints.
We are committed to making Mobius a space of vulnerability, risk-taking and accountability.
