Past Members

 In 1983, Mobius opened a public performance and exhibition space on Congress Street in Boston's Fort Point area after we had already been producing performance events for eight years throughout Boston.  During those itinerant years, more than 80 artists were involved in 21 projects, in addition to regular programs of work in progress to audiences in our studio.

When we opened the space in 1983, we also formalized the group.  The artists who continued were agreeing not only to create new work and support each other's projects, but were committing to also help run Mobius, which was no small task.  We made the space available to the broader community of artists in Boston and New England, and almost immediately we had a full schedule of 40 weeks of programming every year, showing something different every weekend.
