Observation/Transformation

Observation/Transformation (featuring Mobius artist Thomas Mackie) invites you into our immersive art environment for a live drawing session! See the gallery space transform as we use movement and music to tell stories of environmental strife and human competition. Our collective invites you to render both gestures and medium to long poses throughout the night, with the mindset of challenging our conditioned preconceptions about the body and the person in it. By closely examining our subject, we learn to reconcile our preconceptions with the truth. Drawing becomes a powerful tool for recognizing our biases-it is critical thinking with a pencil. The Observation/Transformation team seeks to explore themes of transition and struggle mirrored by images of mountainous landscapes, wildlife, ice, and melting to communicate ideas of honoring the spaces we exist in and the beings we share space with.
