Jimena Bermejo Performing in DANCE NOW

DANCE NOW Boston brings together exceptional artists from New York and Boston to share the stage in two programs over two weekends at The Dance Complex. Now in its 9th season, this popular series is produced by The Bang Group's David Parker and Jeffrey Kazin in partnership with The Dance Complex and DANCE NOW NYC.

The first program on May 11 and 12 features venerated Boston artists Jimena Bermejo, Lynn Modell, Marcus Schulkind, and Tony Williams along with The Bang Group from NYC.

DANCE NOW Boston is committed to expanding the possibilities that emerge from building a creative bridge between the dance communities in Boston and New York City.

Remember those "Stories of a Mexican Immigrant" I shared on Instagram a few years back? Each post explored a different aspect of my life as a Mexican living in the US, sharing experiences and answering common questions about Mexico or being Mexican.

Those stories were the seed for my new dance solo – "Jimena"! It's a performance that explores identity and memory.

This year's "Jimena" holds a very special addition: I'll be sharing the stage with the one and only – my mom, Margie Bermejo! This year'sperformance also features works by: The Bang Group, Marcus Schulkind (my longtime dance mentor!), Lynn Modell, and Tony Williams.
