Points and Pauses, Rests and Discontinuations in the Lives of Things; An anonymous “Oneye” collective and the Discontinuous Society Project, Whomberg Institute N.D.C. Nebcort, Calb – brief by Lewis Gesner.

It would appear the oddest thing, that of the manifestations of the “Oneye” there was something quite seeming with out purpose, but clearly, not, by the standards adapted to be necessary to study this phenomenon. It would seem, a group had begun to meet and work together, to accumulate a series that was both thick and long, of rests and pauses and interruptions in the presence of any number of things in relation to each other, and their individual visability, to the effect of creating a communication of absence and rest from influence, and sight. They collaborated to hide objects from sight and use, sometimes simply inside a cabinet, other times, buried in the ground, always with notes taken as to location,  and then, booklets written and kept, and circulated between them, so that in their separate lives, they might go about at designated times, according to information agreed upon and distributed in these booklets, and reintroduce, unearth and rediscover these things that had been paused from appearance, and make a fluctuation of material manifest in many different daily and more extensive durational frames.  These individuals in these groups have survived in no different or greater product than the creation of these pamphlets of material punctuations. Little is know of the whereabout, nationalities or lives of the components of these groups. Pamphlets would place them in time within a range of a few hundred years, but not closer – paper was hand made in a way not typical of anytime, using various materials that are known, but that have never been in general use for paper making, but which help in preservation of the paper – yet ultimately making time of use hard to place As with much of the “Oneye” material, the presentation and continuance of these matters, and particularly these punctuations of things will likely generate an imitation in physics, as the effect of this introductions ripples like waves out into the world, effecting far more than the perceptions of the art viewer/ critic/ listener, but flowing out into all other fields of endeavor, - and as with other presentations, we only have stripped away the very surface of the thing, and have little ability to predict the longer termed effect – so, it is good, that this Discontinuous Society and committee be formed to conduct the needed study into these possible effects, even as with early music societies, the work is presented and continued to be carried out, as best as these strange pamphlets suggest, and, it even seems that the period now, previous disappearance of the material and things according to the plan, that the incompleted stage at which the pamphlets leave us now, is a period of heavy concentration, of disappearance of materials, and also of other materials unearthing and reintroduction from many hiding places where to date, they have all been found, just as indicated by the mapping and planning contained within these pamphlets. I suggest caution with this material, as I always do, regarding “Oneye” works, as we are so little in the knowledge of their purpose and effect, but, it is always also obvious that the rediscover of this work is needed, and inevitable as it occurs in all places at once in our present state of affairs. And, though this manifestation takes the form of an anonymous collective which is an unusual kind of occurrence for :Oneye” product generator, the work is clearly the result of them, and only adds further mystery to the natures of these rare human punctuations.

Tarnished grasp, the metal handle is only smooth, it is the hand that wears corrosion of the ages, it is the hand that weighs and belts and carries all the value to the treasure room, and hides, and keeps it all from sight, and even covers up the holders’ eyes, the hands that work and cheat, and win, and pray with grace, and build the boxes keeping all encrusted sticks for time and honors -.it is the hands that should be cupped for catching every drop - .
