In the weeks that passed as this horrible oil spill spread ruin across the Gulf I have been struggling with the horror and grief I feel.

There is no response deep enough to approach the sorrow of loss, and lost species, going on down there.

Yes, and people's livelihoods.

The pods of dolphins swimming into oil and choking to death. Their entire family units wiped out. The birds...

 

the entire ecosystem.

 

I am compelled to bear witness and I feel so helpless, angry and ultimately depressed by what is going on.
